Learning to work with older homeowners.
Many of the homes we serve belong to older adults, and that takes a different kind of care. Every new FLO team member completes Senior Assist, our course on serving older homeowners safely, clearly and with respect.
What the course covers
Clear, patient communication
Speak plainly, face the customer, slow down and put important details in writing.
Explain before you fix
Walk through the problem and the price before starting. No pressure, and time to decide or call family.
Safety in the home
Keep walkways clear, never leave tools or cords behind, and point out fall and scald hazards.
Trust and scam awareness
Show ID on arrival, confirm the visit and help customers recognize how real plumbers do business.
Aging-in-place plumbing
Lever handles, comfort-height toilets, grab bar backing, anti-scald valves and safe water heater temperatures.
Respect for the home
Shoe covers, drop cloths, care around pets and routines, and a clean space when the job is done.
